こんにちは！九州国際大学合気道部です！
今回私達は、令和4年4月29日（金）に行われた全国武徳祭に参加させて頂きました。
まず、全国武徳祭とは、私達の道場が所属している大日本武徳会が主催しているイベントで、今回はその60回目に当たる記念祭であり、参加された道場の数は私達の道場を含め34団体でした。
開催場所は、平安神宮の隣にある京都市武道センターの旧武徳殿で行われました。また、開催に先立ち平安神宮での祈願祭が執り行われ、厳かな空気の中始まりました。この武徳祭には、今年卒業したOBの執筆である私を含めた3名と師範、そして外部コーチの明日香さん隆子さんが参加しました。OB3名と師範は実際に演武を披露し、明日香さん隆子さんはカメラマンとして、貢献しました。
演武を披露したOB3名は、卒業後と言う事もあり実際に道場で練習する事ができず、zoomを使った遠隔での練習となりました。しかし、武徳祭前日に師範と私は、武徳殿での練習をする事を許され、そこで師範の先生である濱田鉄心先生からの助言と技を見せて頂きました。その時間は、一時間半と言う大学の講義と同じぐらいの時間でしたが、刹那の時を思わせる程に短く、重厚感がありました。
今回の武徳祭では、先述した様に34の団体が参加をしました。その団体の中で合気道として参加し演武を披露したのは、私達の道場のみでした。その他の団体は、空手道・居合道・古武道・剣術・剣道・柔術・槍術等々の様々な演武を披露しました。また、当然ながらもその演武を披露なされた方々は、私を含むOB3名よりも圧倒的な歳月と志をもって、鍛錬を積み上げてきた先人の方々です。その様な方々から発せられる礼節の中の気は、魅惑的でとても美しく奮い上がる気持ちにさせてくれました。
そんな中で私達は演武を披露しましたが、私個人としては大きく課題が残る結果となりました。演武自体は、事故もなく無事にやり遂げる事ができました。しかし、私は前日に濱田鉄心先生からの助言や見せて頂いた技を組み込む事が出来ませんでした。それは、私自身の適応能力・応用能力の未熟さによるものだと、武徳祭後に濱田鉄心先生から指摘されました。また、二人の先輩は体と心の準備の足りなさを痛感し、武道という道の奥深さを実感していました。
結果として演武はやり終えましたが、私達の中に大きな課題が見出されました。来年には、世界武徳祭が開催され、ありがたい事にも私達は参加する事が決まっています。今回の武徳祭での経験と意志を以てそこへ、出来る事を確実にやり遂げて行こうと思います。

This time we participated in the National Butokusai held on April 29th. First of all, the National Butokusai is an event organized by the Dai Nippon Butokukai, to which our dojo belongs, and this year was the 60th anniversary of the festival.
The event was held in the former Butokuden Hall of the Kyoto Budo Center, located next to Heian Shrine. Prior to the event, a prayer service was held at Heian Shrine, which started in a solemn atmosphere. Three of our alumni including myself, and Shihan, and outside coaches, Asuka-san and Takako-san, participated in the Butokusai, with Shihan performing and Asuka-san and Takako-san contributing as photographers.
As the three alumni were graduates, they were unable to practice at the dojo in person, so they practiced remotely via zoom. However, the day before the Butokusai, Shihan and I were allowed to practice at Butokuden, where Shihan’s sensei, Tesshin Hamada-sensei, gave us advice and showed us his techniques. The time was about the same as a university lecture, an hour and a half, but it was so short and profound that it seemed like a moment in time.
As mentioned earlier, 34 groups participated in this Butokusai. Among them, our dojo was the only one to participate and demonstrate aikido. The other groups performed various demonstrations such as karate, iaido, kobudo, kenjutsu, kendo, jujutsu, and sojutsu. Naturally, the people who presented these demonstrations were people who had trained and accumulated more years and ambition than the three alumni, including myself. The ki in the civility emanating from such people was enchanting, beautiful, and inspiring.
We performed in such an environment, but I personally have a lot to work on. The enbu itself went off without incident. However, I was not able to incorporate the techniques that Tesshin Hamada-sensei gave me advice on and showed me the day before. After the Butokusai, Tesshin Hamada-sensei pointed out to me that this was due to my own immaturity in adaptability and application skills. In addition, the two alumni were keenly aware of their lack of physical and mental preparation and the depth of the path of Budo.
As a result, we finished the demonstration, but we found a great deal of work to be done. Next year, the World Butokusai will be held, and thankfully we will be participating. With the experience and willpower gained from this Butokusai, we will do what we can to make sure that we accomplish what we can do there.
