🥋こんにちは、九州国際大学合気道部です🥋
令和4年3月17日（24日）にKuma先輩とYuka先輩が一日道場長を務めることになりました。先のブログの通り（R4昇段審査を行いました！参照）お二方は、2月に黒帯（初段）を取得し、これによって後輩たちに正式に指導できる立場となりました。黒帯がアメリカの本部から届くことになっていますので、しばらく時間がかかってしまう都合上、写真では茶色帯になっていますが、お二方が黒帯・袴を身に着けた姿で一緒に稽古できる日を楽しみに待っています。
さて、一日道場長の稽古内容ですが、お二方とも合気型を中心に稽古を行い、最後に大日本武徳会の伝統であるとある方法で、エール（気）を送りました。Kuma先輩曰く、合気型を稽古することによって、我々が一番初めに習う「基本技」の呼吸ができるようになるとのことです。稽古の前に必ず行う体捌きも呼吸を重視しますので、なにか特別なものがあるのかもしれません。私はまだそこまで理解が及びませんが、先輩方の教えどおりに合気型を重視し、稽古をすることによって、なにか分かるのかもしれません。続いて、これからの先輩方の旅路を応援するという意を込めて「気」を送るという儀式的なものを行いました。これを言語化することが難しいのですが、体捌き逆突き、座って肩を叩く、立ったままみんなで接触するといったような三つの方法で、エールを送りました。
4年生の先輩方にとって、学生であるうちの最後の稽古になりましたが、少しでも充実した稽古になったことを願うばかりです。合気道愛好会設立から約3年間いろいろあったかと思いますが、ここまでやってきたことは、本当にすごいと思います。部員一同、大変お世話になりました。
Yuka先輩、Kuma先輩、Tera先輩ご卒業おめでとうございます。ところで、Yuka先輩とKuma先輩は、学長賞を受賞されました。これは、学業はもちろん、道場での活躍をはじめとする課外活動への貢献が評価されたものです。
これからも困難や挑戦しなければならないことなど、色々あるかとは思いますが、このサークルでの経験を糧に乗り切れると確信しています。先輩方の新たな旅路に幸多からんことをお祈りしています。
また、4月の下旬に行われる大日本武徳会の会員が京都の武徳殿にて一堂に会し、演武を行う武徳祭にお三方が参加されます。非常に格式が高いといわれている武徳祭にこの北九州武心館道場のメンバーが選ばれたことを大変光栄に思います。末筆ながら、ご健闘をお祈りしています。

On March 17 and March 24th, 2022, Kuma-senpai and Yuka-senpai will be dojo-cho for a day. As mentioned in the previous blog (R4 Dan Promotion Examination Was Held!), they received their first-degreee black belts (shodan) in February, which puts them in a position to officially instruct the junior students. The black belts will be delivered from the HQ in the U.S., so it will take some time for them to arrive, so they are wearing brown belts in the photo, but we look forward to the day when they can train together with us wearing black belts and hakama.
According to Kuma-senpai, by practicing Aiki Kata, we will be able to breathe the “basic techniques” that we learn at the very beginning. The body dynamics we must do before practice also emphasizes breathing, so there may be something special about it. I do not understand that much yet, but I may be able to understand something by practicing and emphasizing Aiki Kata as the seniors teach. Next, we performed a ritualistic “ki” sending to support the seniors on their journey ahead. It is difficult to verbalize this, but we used three different methods to send out ki: body dynamic with a reverse punch, having them kneel down with us taking turns slapping them on the shoulders over an important pressure point, and standing together and making contact with them as we unified our breathing.
For the seniors, this was their last practice as university students, and we can only hope that it was as fulfilling as possible. I know that a lot has happened in the three years since the establishment of the KIU Aikido Club, but I think it is truly amazing that they have made it this far. I would like to thank all the members of the Club for their great support.
Congratulations again to seniors Yuka-senpai, Kuma-senpai, and Tera-senpai on their graduation. By the way, both Yuka-senpai and Kuma-senpai received the prestigious Dean’s Award for Excellence. This was in recognition of both their academic excellence and for their dedication to extra-curricular activities, including their impressive achievements in the Dojo. I am sure that you will continue to face many difficulties and challenges in the future, but I am confident that you will be able to overcome them with the experience you have gained in this circle. I wish all the best for the seniors on their new journey.
In addition, in late April, the three of you will participate in the Zen Koku Butoku Sai (All-Japan Martial Arts Festival), where members of the Dai Nippon Butokukai gather at Butoku Den in Kyoto to demonstrate their martial arts skills. We are very honored that the members of the Busshin Kan Dojo of Kitakyushu have been chosen to participate in the Butoku Sai, which is considered to be a very prestigious event.
